Pranks and stunts were once a favorite pastime of mine. I loved playing with M-80's: M-80's and slingshots, M-80's and model rockets, and other explosives; I once even used them to terrorize a Canadian Girl Guide camp. Once I dressed all in black, used ash to blacken my face to sneak about in the dark pretending to be T.H.E. Cat, a TV show cat-burglar character. I even tried to stage a UFO scare in my hometown. I had too much time on my hands during high school, I guess.

During my senior year I was a closet smart-ass with too little respect for my teachers - science teachers in particular. As a science lover at heart I was not very impressed with them, in general, except for my physics teacher Mr. Beebe. Mr. Beebe was a genius full of wonderful ideas, such as a compressed air system for the front bumper of cars that, sensing a pedestrian would blow them safely out of harms way with a blast of air. He also devised a way of using mirrors around a pool table that would make even the most complex, off-the-bumper shots as easy to line up as a simple straight shot.
